Class Celebration of the Word
Each week, children in each class have an opportunity to plan and lead a liturgical prayer session with their class. The younger children are very much supported in this but there is clear progression in place as the older children plan and lead independently. Children reflect on Gospel stories as well as lead prayers, songs and other chosen activities.
Gather
Children gather with a focus area. They add a cloth linked to the time in the liturgical year, a bible, a cross, a candle and any other religious artefacts relevant to the theme. Children may choose to sing a hymn or listen to some reflective music.
Word
Children choose a Bible reading linked to their prayer theme.
Response
Children choose ways to respond to the reading. For example, they may ask each child to write a prayer or a promise and add these to a prayer tree. They could then place this tree on the class prayer table as a reminder for them throughout the day.
Mission
Children choose a way to go forth, sharing the Good News and following God's mission in their everyday lives. This might be letting others know about what they have heard and sharing acts of kindness.

Whole School Celebration of the Word
Every Monday, Mrs Parnell or Mrs Hall plan and deliver a Celebration of the Word with the whole school. It is linked to the Gospel readings from Sunday Mass, as well as relevant themes linking to our liturgical year and diocesan themes.
Key Stage Worship
Once a week, the children gather for the Celebration of the Word in their Key Stages. The themes of these can be linked to the liturgical year, Catholic Social Teaching and our trust virtues.
