Discovering the Wonderful World of Minibeasts
Year 2 pupils from St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Stockton enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Hardwick Park, where they became expert minibeast explorers for the day.
The trip provided a fantastic opportunity for children to learn about nature through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration.
Exploring Habitats and Wildlife
Throughout the day, the children took part in pond dipping, meadow sweeping and searched amongst logs and leaves to discover a variety of different minibeasts in their natural habitats.
The activities encouraged curiosity and helped pupils develop a greater understanding of the creatures that live in local environments.
Creating for Nature
As part of the visit, the children made their own bug hotels to take home and created wildflower seed bombs, learning how they can help support insects and encourage biodiversity.
These practical activities allowed pupils to apply their learning while making a positive contribution to local wildlife.
A Fantastic Day of Outdoor Learning
The trip was filled with discovery, fun and adventure, and the children thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their day at Hardwick Park.
Year 2 represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit and returned with lots of new knowledge and wonderful memories from their minibeast adventure.
