On Friday 21st November, St. Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School came together to celebrate Jubilee Celebration Day – a day dedicated to creativity, prayer, and spreading hope within our school and wider community. The day began with a whole-school Celebration of the Word, where pupils and staff reflected on how they have been Pilgrims of Hope throughout the year and renewed their pledge to continue sharing hope and kindness in everything they do.
Throughout the day, children engaged in creative journaling, capturing their personal journeys of hope. They reflected on acts of kindness and fundraising efforts for Children in Need, the Royal British Legion, and CAFOD World Gifts. Pupils also crafted beautiful Angels of Hope, which will be shared during our Advent Mission with those who need a message of hope most.
In the afternoon, our Prayer Leaders guided their peers through meaningful prayer stations, offering moments of quiet reflection. Children considered how they could use their time to help others and even took part in a unique activity – blowing bubbles outside while praying for their hopes for the world to “float” up to God.
Each class explored the theme of blessings and doors, using imagery to reflect on how God opens doors in our lives and the many blessings we receive. To conclude this special day, we gathered stunning examples of work and artwork from EYFS to Year 6 to create a vibrant whole-school display, celebrating our shared commitment to hope and faith at the heart of our community.
