The smell of freshly baked bread filled the corridors at St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Stockton, as Year 3 pupils transformed into enthusiastic mini bakers!

As part of their Design & Technology topic, children explored different types of bread, discovered where ingredients come from, and designed their very own bread creations.

From Dough to Delicious

The pupils kneaded, shaped, baked, and of course… enjoyed tasting their finished products! Along the way, they developed key practical and evaluative skills.

Here are some of the fantastic things they learned:

  • How to follow a recipe
  • The importance of hygiene in food preparation
  • How to evaluate and improve a design
  • What makes a healthy, balanced product

A Delicious Learning Journey

Their creativity and teamwork shone through every step of the process. The classroom looked amazing, the bread smelled even better, and the children’s smiles said it all!
